34 Southern California Hotels Ratify New Contract With Hospitality Workers

Southern California hospitality workers ratified a new contract with 34 hotels this week after repeated strikes dating back to last summer. The contract includes wage hikes of $10 an hour over its duration, with room attendants and top cooks expected to earn $35 and $41 an hour, respectively, by July 2027. Tipped workers will see double-time pay for holidays, vacation, and sick days and increased shares of service charges. Automatic 20% gratuities at full-service restaurants will be 100% shared by staff.
