The COVID-19 Hotel Plan is for CHLA members and is intended to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace and to support a safe, clean environment for employees, guests, and visitors. This plan is a required component of the California Department of Public Health and Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Hotel & Lodging Industry Guidance, published on June 5, 2020.
In addition to the COVID-19 Hotel Plan, members will receive a required COVID-19 Employee Training presentation (suitable for video training), an optional COVID-19 Cleaning and Disinfecting Training presentation for your hotel facilities (also suitable for video training), and a COVID-19 Employer Resources document which includes supervisor talking points, plus sample signage and forms.
Specifically, this COVID-19 Hotel Plan summarizes the measures that will be taken to prevent the spread of the virus, including an overall assessment as well as training and communication with employees. Compliance with this plan, including documenting and correcting any limitations is essential. For a COVID-19 case, this plan provides a process to investigate the case, alert the county health department, and identify and isolate close contacts of infected employees until they are tested.
