2025 HIGHLIGHTS
- Legislative Wins: Secured critical victories including leveling the playing field with short-term rentals, enabling hotels to safely host disaster victims, and protecting hotels from labor law violations. We also led a successful coalition to negotiate San Diego’s City Hotel Wage ordinance.
- Member Resources: Delivered essential resources including immigration guidance, service animal training, digital tipping policy support, and ADA protection—including a State Bar complaint that led to the suspension of a high-frequency ADA lawyer.
- Social Responsibility: Expanded our Hotel Caring initiative to four additional states and trained over 3,500 individuals in human trafficking awareness and prevention (bringing our total to over 15,000 since the program began).
- Workforce Development & Scholarships: Awarded $170,000 in scholarships to 97 recipients from 21 California colleges and universities through our Hospitality Foundation.
- Events: Honored 181 Hotel All Stars in December, and grew our event attendance by more than 25% year over year.
- Membership Growth: Welcomed three new large group members and increased our property membership by 6.5%.
- Financial Strength: Achieved $5.1M in total revenue with $2.46M in reserves, ensuring CHLA’s continued ability to serve our industry.
Thank you for making 2025 a year of impact and growth. Together, we are elevating California’s lodging industry.
