Visit California’s Caroline Beteta Announces Retirement

Visit California announced that longtime President & CEO Caroline Beteta will retire in September 2026 after nearly 30 years leading the organization and helping build California’s global tourism brand. The Visit California Board of Directors has launched a global search for her successor, with Beteta remaining fully engaged in day-to-day operations during the transition to ensure continuity. During her tenure, Beteta guided major initiatives including statewide tourism funding, global marketing expansion, and industry recovery efforts, helping the tourism sector support 1.2 million jobs and generate more than $150 billion in annual visitor spending.
