  • SB 616 – Paid Sick Days – Increases paid sick days and increased accrual caps.
  • SB 848 – Leave for Reproductive Loss – Allows employees to take up to 5 days of leave for a “reproductive loss event”.
  • SB 553 – Workplace Violence – Requires employers to adopt workplace violence prevention plans and comply with recordkeeping and training requirements. 
  • SB 700 – Cannabis Use – Makes it unlawful for employers to request information from applicants regarding prior use of cannabis.
  • SB 476 – Food Handler Cards – Establishes guidelines for employers regarding food handling cards.

2024 California Hotel & Lodging Legislative Action Summit

The California Hotel & Lodging Legislative Action Summit is a unique legislative outreach and communication event produced by the California Hotel & Lodging Association. Each year, CHLA members from around the state gather in Sacramento for presentations on legislative and regulatory issues and visit with their local assembly members and senators to discuss key policy measures.

This event provides those individuals and companies who work with and support California’s lodging industry, a way to help increase the influence of the lodging industry on policy makers. Summit activities include a Legislative Issues Briefing on the most significant topics affecting California’s lodging industry, national updates from AHLA and AAHOA, and virtual lobbying sessions with legislators and their staff.
