10 counties in California generated over $100 billion each in GDP in 2023—the most of any state according to new data released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Los Angeles led the nation with $962 billion, while Santa Clara County’s tech-driven economy saw 3.4% growth, and San Diego contributed $315 billion with strengths in medical innovation and tourism. Together, California’s top 10 counties produced $3 trillion in GDP, reinforcing the state’s global standing as the world’s fifth-largest economy.
