California Suspends Short-Term Lodging Limits In Wake Of LA Wildfires
Governor Gavin Newsom has extended the suspension of laws classifying long-term hotel guests as tenants in Los Angeles County until July 1, allowing hotels to continue sheltering wildfire evacuees. State laws classify hotel guests at many properties as tenants after 30 days. CHLA supports the move, with CHLA President + CEO Lynn S. Mohrfeld calling it “simply the right thing to do” as hotels continue to play a key role in recovery efforts.
