California’s Danny De La Cruz Earns AHLA’s 2026 Hotel Hero Award

Congratulations to Daniel “Danny” De La Cruz from CHLA member Ramada Santa Barbara, who was recently recognized by the AHLA Foundation as their 2026 Hotel Hero during the AHLA Stars of the Industry Awards! As you may remember, in two separate moments of crisis, Danny saved not one, but two lives — diving into a pond to rescue a drowning child and performing the Heimlich on a guest who was unable to breathe. Danny’s bravery, humility, and everyday kindness remind us all what true hospitality looks like.
