About 9,500 people are in San Francisco this week for the 44th annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference, the biotech industry’s premier event, driving hotel occupancy to 100% and pushing room rates in Union Square past $1,000 a night. City and business leaders estimate the conference will generate $105 to $110 million in economic impact, benefiting hotels, restaurants, and small businesses across San Francisco.
