LA City Council Delays Action on Hotel Wage Ordinance
This week the Los Angeles City Council voted to delay approval of the proposed LA Hotel Wage Ordinance over concerns about the impact to the local hotel market. During the hearing, members of the council highlighted a significant number of flaws within the recently-released economic impact study and expressed discomfort making such an important decision when macroeconomic data and real-world experiences suggests the industry cannot feasibly absorb further significant economic shock at this time. The council will return to the proposal on December 11 for further deliberation.
