West Coast Offense: Bay Area Hoteliers Tout Demand Spread For Super Bowl

The Super Bowl drove exceptional hotel demand, allowing operators to push rates well above normal levels. Bay Area hoteliers report strong demand across corporate, group, and leisure segments. Unlike the 2016 Super Bowl, demand this year is robust before, during, and after game day, fueled by events like the Super Bowl Experience and Pro Bowl in San Francisco. Many hotels are benefiting from guests arriving early or staying longer to enjoy the full slate of fan activities. Vice President of Revenue and Digital Strategy at OTO Development Stabell-Glib said this Super Bowl is “probably one of the more successful for a region that I’ve seen in the last few years.” OTO Development manages seven hotels in the Bay Area.
