Alex G. Desrosiers
Alex, an attorney in the Orlando office and integral member of the firm’s Labor Relations Group, advises and represents employers across the country in traditional labor matters related to union organization, grievance arbitrations, contract interpretation, work stoppages and unfair labor practices. He regularly counsels private and public-sector employers and their managers in a variety of labor, employment and business matters, including:
- pre-hire and onboarding
- employee handbooks and employment policies
- performance management
- requests for medical leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations
- termination and severance agreements
- labor relations
- restrictive covenants
As a trusted litigator, Alex also represents employers of all sizes before state and federal courts, and before administrative agencies, as well as in arbitration. Alex has significant experience litigating claims of discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and restrictive covenant/noncompete disputes.
Alex is also an avid speaker and frequently travels around the state to keep employers and HR professionals informed about the ever-changing workplace landscape. Recently, he co-hosted a presentation on Florida’s Individual Freedom Act, dubbed the “Stop WOKE Act,” for the Hospitality Human Resources Association to advise employers on what they can do to ensure compliance with the Act. In September, Alex spoke at the 2022 HR Florida Conference and Exposition about how to “Build a Positive Employee Relations Program Amid the Next Wave of Union Organizing Activity.”
Outside the office, Alex serves on the Board of Directors for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation – Central and Northeast Florida Chapter.
