2026 FIFA World Cup – Key Updates For Hoteliers

FIFA will announce the 12 groups of four at this Friday’s Final Draw (Dec. 5), with the updated match schedule released on Saturday—both expected to trigger increased trip planning and hotel bookings. The U.S. Department of State has also introduced the new “FIFA Pass,” offering priority visa processing for international visitors who purchase tickets directly from FIFA. Hoteliers should also be aware that California, L.A. County, and the City of Los Angeles each have anti-price-gouging rules that only take effect during officially declared emergencies and generally cap rate increases at 10%. Since no emergency declaration is currently in place, none of these price-gouging restrictions apply at this time, and hotels may adjust rates normally. CHLA sent a Member Alert on Wednesday with further details.
