Handlery Foundation Donates $20,000 to CHLA Hospitality Foundation
Funds support education of future hospitality industry leaders
SACRAMENTO, CA – (Sept. 29, 2020)– The California Hotel & Lodging Association Hospitality Foundation proudly announces the donation of $20,000 to its scholarship program from the Handlery Foundation, a gift that will support the education of the next generation of hospitality leaders.
The Handlery family has been an active CHLA member for four generations with Handlery Hotels President Jon Handlery serving as a member of the CHLA Hospitality Foundation Board and as a member of CHLA’s Board of Directors.
“I challenge all hoteliers to give and invest in our students who will be future leaders of our industry,” Handlery said. “The Handlery family is proud to support the Hospitality Foundation and its outstanding scholarship program and has been involved with CHLA for over 60 years.”
“On behalf of the students who will benefit greatly from the Handlery’s generosity, we say ‘thank you’ for their commitment and encouragement,” said Michael Pace, CHLA Hospitality Foundation Chair
Support from the Handlery family, and others, has made it possible for the CHLAHF to contribute more than $2 million in the last decade to the future benefit of the state’s hospitality community. The Hospitality Foundation awarded scholarships in 2020 totaling more than $120,000 to 62 students, who represented 11 hospitality programs.
CHLAHF provides funding and assistance to individuals studying hospitality and the California institutions that offer hospitality training and related activities to further research and knowledge in the field of hotel management.
