San Francisco’s Tourism Revival, Visitor Spending Soars To $8.8B As City Recovers

Last year, San Francisco had 23.1 million visitors, a 5.2% increase from 2022, according to the San Francisco Travel Association. Those visitors spent $8.8 billion, an 18% year-over-year increase. Tourism ultimately generated nearly $610 million in tax revenue for the city in 2023, compared with $522 million in 2022. This year, SF Travel expects visitor volume to reach 23.7 million and for those visitors to spend $9.45 billion.
