Los Angeles Immigration Protests Spur Some Travelers to Change Plans

Most of Los Angeles feels normal, but after days of protests over an ICE crackdown — and with curfews, arrests, and military deployments downtown — some tourists are starting to rethink their plans. Travel agents report a shift in bookings away from L.A. toward destinations like Seattle and the East Coast, citing concerns over the “overall vibe” and potential disruptions. “California remains the preferred destination for visitors from around the world,” CHLA said in a statement to Skift. “We are not immune, however, to government policies and events that impact convention-goers, business travelers and tourists. We’re hopeful that our hotels, our tourism colleagues, and our employees can continue to be welcoming ambassadors for our great state.”
